History:, Charles T. Smith, desceased March 2006, had the vision to transform the First Christian Church of Rockwall into a wedding chapel when he found it for sale in November of 2002. The church began building their new facility located on the south side of I 30 on Ridge Rd. , and the wedding chapel started to take shape. In only 2 short years the church moved into their new building and the chapel was up and running.
Charles' daughter, Carrie Smith, a recent graduate from the University of North Texas helped launch this new business with her skills in marketing and her creative talents. His wife, Iris, who owned and operated a family florist in Dallas helped with the details and operations
The sanctuary was beautifully remodeled in January of 07 and a Grand Pavilion and fireplace for overflow crowds is just being finished.
The chapel is now in full swing and almost every weekend now we have a beautiful wedding taking place. Please drop by and see us. I think you'll like what you see !

Iris Smith has owned the Oak Cliff Floral Co. since 1974 and grew up there as her parents founded the shop in 1937. She graduated from North Texas University in 1969 and her first career was as a music teacher in the DISD where she was responsible for putting on musical theatricals as well as teaching her music classes. When her parents retired she and her husband, Charles, bought the flower shop from them and she began her current career. Iris' extensive experience in planning, ordering, and creating beautiful floral decorations serves her well in this expansion of her business with the Rockwall Wedding Chapel. In cooperation with colleagues, she has worked on celebrations as large as $350,000 and as small as $100.00. Her years of experience in floral design, innate creativity and "can do" attitude will ensure a wedding you can be proud of and enjoy.

Hayley Kaumeyer , Certified Wedding Consultant, ACWC certified November 2002. Hayley has been with Rockwall Wedding Chapel since we opened our doors. She has wide ranging experience in event planning. She will be glad to meet with you and discuss your vision of your special day. She can arrange the entire event from invitations to the limo that whisks you away from your lovely reception or set up the use of the site only if you choose to do all the planning yourself. Hayley has researched and sampled everything that is needed in arranging a lovely wedding and can assist you in making your dreams come true with as little stress as possible!
